These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LanWarp: the LanWarp app for Windows, the LanWarp relays, the website lanwarp.com and its account area, and the LanWarp bot for Discord (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Who provides LanWarp
LanWarp is provided by Riccardo Barberini, an individual based in Italy (“LanWarp”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at [email protected].
Paid plans are sold by our reseller, Creem (see section 9).
2. The Service
The LanWarp app creates and runs a Minecraft: Java Edition server on your Windows PC. LanWarp gives the server an address under lanwarp.net and passes the connections of the players who join it to your PC through a LanWarp relay, so you don’t need to open ports on your router.
The server runs on your PC. Players can reach it only while your PC is on and connected to the internet, the LanWarp app is open and the server is started. The speed and quality of the connection also depend on your PC, your internet connection and the players’ connections.
We work to keep the relays, the website and the account services available, and we may carry out maintenance. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features of the Service, in particular of the Free plan. If we remove a feature included in a paid plan during a period you already paid for, section 9.8 applies.
3. Third-party software
To create a server, the app downloads software from its publishers: the Minecraft server software, Java, and, if you choose them, plugins, mods and modpacks. This software is not ours and comes with its own license.
Before you start a server, the app asks you to accept the Minecraft End User License Agreement, which is an agreement between you and Mojang. You are responsible for respecting it and the licenses of the plugins, mods and modpacks you install.
LanWarp is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
4. Who can use LanWarp
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account, or older if the law of your country requires a higher age to use online services without a parent’s consent.
Paid plans are for adults. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must buy the plan for you and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the law that applies to you.
5. Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email, or with Discord or Google. Keep access to your email and to those accounts secure: anyone who can read your sign-in codes or use those accounts can use your LanWarp account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.
An account is for one person. The information you give us must be accurate, in particular your email address, which we use for sign-in codes and messages about your account and your plan.
You can delete your account at any time from lanwarp.com/account or from the app. Deleting the account cancels your subscription, if you have one, and deletes your servers, their addresses and the copies of your worlds in the cloud. It can’t be undone. The servers and worlds on your PC are not deleted.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- host, share or store content that is illegal, including content that sexually exploits minors, incites violence or hatred, or infringes other people’s rights;
- scam, threaten, harass or deceive other people, or collect their data without a legal basis;
- send traffic through the relays that is not a Minecraft: Java Edition connection, or use LanWarp as a proxy, a VPN or a general-purpose tunnel;
- attack, overload, probe or disrupt the relays, our other systems, other users or anyone else;
- get around the limits of your plan or our security measures, for example by modifying the app or reverse engineering it, except where the law allows it;
- choose server names, addresses or server list text that are offensive, that impersonate someone, that suggest a connection with us, Mojang or Microsoft that doesn’t exist, or that use other people’s trademarks;
- spread malware, including through plugins, mods or files you give to players;
- sell, rent or give access to your account or your addresses to others as a service.
You are responsible for your server and for what happens on it: the software, plugins and mods you install, the settings you choose, the players you let in and the content they create. If you connect the LanWarp bot to Discord, you are responsible for who has the trusted role and for telling your players that the names of the players online appear in the status message.
7. Your servers and content
Your worlds and the content on your server belong to you and to the people who made them. We don’t monitor what happens on your server. The relay reads only the information it needs to route a connection (the address a player typed and the first messages of the Minecraft connection) and forwards the rest without reading or changing it.
You give us a non-exclusive, free license to store, copy and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service to you: to keep your account and server details, to pass connections through the relays, to show your server’s status on Discord if you ask for it and, if you use cloud backups, to store the files you upload. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
Server addresses remain ours. You may use an address while your account and your server exist. A chosen name that you release can’t be used by anyone for 30 days.
8. Cloud backups
On Plus and Pro, the app can upload a backup of your Minecraft world to LanWarp’s cloud storage in the European Union. The cloud storage is only for backups of Minecraft worlds made by the LanWarp app, within the space included in your plan.
Keep the backups on your PC: they are the main copy of your world. The cloud copy is an additional copy and we don’t guarantee that it will always be available.
If your plan no longer includes cloud backups, your cloud copy stays available for download for 30 days and is then deleted. We send you an email 7 days before.
9. Plans, payments and refunds
9.1 Plans
The Free plan has no time limit and costs nothing. Plus and Pro are paid subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. The features, limits and prices of each plan are shown on lanwarp.com/plans and before you pay. The limits of a plan, such as the number of players, are applied by our relays and backend.
9.2 Who sells
Paid plans are sold by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia), which acts as reseller and Merchant of Record: Creem is the seller of your purchase, processes the payment, charges and pays the taxes, sends you receipts and invoices, and handles renewals and refunds together with us. Creem’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase and are shown when you pay. We provide the plan you bought.
9.3 Prices and taxes
Prices are shown in euro and include VAT or other sales taxes where they apply to you. Your bank may charge its own fees, for example for currency conversion.
9.4 Renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) at the price in force for your plan, and Creem charges the payment method you used. If a payment fails, Creem tries again; your plan stays active for 3 days after the end of the period while the payment is retried.
9.5 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from lanwarp.com/account (“Manage subscription”). When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and then doesn’t renew. Cancelling doesn’t give a refund for the current period, except as described in section 9.7.
9.6 Changing plan
- Moving to a higher plan (from Plus to Pro) takes effect immediately. You pay today the difference between the two plans for the rest of the current period. Your renewal date doesn’t change.
- Moving to a lower plan (from Pro to Plus) takes effect at your next renewal. You keep the plan you paid for until then, and nothing is charged or refunded now.
- Switching between monthly and yearly billing is not available from the account page. Write to [email protected] if you need it.
When you move to a plan with lower limits, the lower limits apply from the date of the change. For example, if you have more servers than the new plan allows, you may not be able to create new ones, and cloud backups beyond the new space may be removed under section 8.
9.7 Refunds and right of withdrawal
You can ask for a full refund, without giving a reason, within 14 days of:
- your first payment for a subscription; and
- each payment of a yearly renewal.
Write to [email protected] from the email of your LanWarp account within those 14 days. The refund goes back to the payment method you used, through Creem, and your plan ends when the refund is made.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, this refund also covers your legal right of withdrawal from a distance contract, which you can exercise in the same way and which lasts 14 days from the purchase. Monthly renewals, the difference paid when you move to a higher plan and periods that have already ended are not refundable, unless the law requires it or the Service didn’t work as described because of a problem on our side.
9.8 Changes to paid plans
We may change the prices and the features of paid plans. A price change applies to your subscription only from the next renewal after we have told you by email at least 30 days in advance; you can cancel before it applies. If we remove an important feature of your paid plan during a period you already paid for, you can ask for a refund of the remaining part of that period.
9.9 Disputed payments
If you think a payment is wrong, write to us first: we answer and refund where it is due. If a payment is disputed with your bank or reversed, we may suspend the paid plan of the account while the dispute is open, and close the subscription.
10. Reports and moderation
You can report illegal content or a server that breaks these Terms at lanwarp.com/report or by writing to [email protected]. We review reports diligently and objectively and act when the content is illegal or the server breaks these Terms.
If we restrict your account, a server or content, we tell you, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it, with the reason, the facts and the rules we relied on, and how you can contest the decision.
11. Suspension and termination
If you break these Terms, or if it is necessary to protect the Service, other users or third parties, or to comply with the law, we may suspend a server, remove content, or ban your account for a period, until a date or permanently. The measure is proportionate to the seriousness of the breach. We may act immediately, without notice, when a server is used for an attack, a scam, malware or clearly illegal content.
If your account is banned permanently because of a serious breach of these Terms, the paid period that remains is not refunded, unless the law requires it. In all other cases in which we close your account without a breach on your part, we refund the part of the paid period that remains.
You can contest a decision by writing to [email protected] within 6 months. A person reviews the complaint and we tell you the outcome. This doesn’t affect your right to go to court or to an out-of-court dispute settlement body.
12. Our responsibility
We are responsible to you for providing the Service as described in these Terms. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights that the law gives you, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services, and nothing in these Terms limits them.
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not responsible for the software, plugins, mods and modpacks of other publishers, for what players do on your server, or for problems caused by your PC, your internet connection or your network;
- we are not responsible for losses that we couldn’t reasonably foresee, or for interruptions of the Service caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as attacks on our network, failures of third-party networks or providers, or actions of public authorities;
- if you use the Service as a business, our total responsibility for each 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in that period, and we are not responsible for loss of profit, revenue or data.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or any other responsibility that can’t be limited under the law that applies.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms, for example when we change the Service or when the law changes. We tell you about important changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they apply, unless the change is required by law sooner. If you don’t accept them, you can delete your account; if you have a paid plan, you can cancel and ask for a refund of the remaining part of the period you paid for. The version and date at the top of this page show the current version; the app and the website ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
14. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live. If you use the Service as a business, the courts of Italy have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before going to court, write to [email protected]: most problems can be solved directly.
15. Other terms
If a part of these Terms is invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right immediately, we don’t give it up. You may not transfer your account or these Terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a company that continues the Service, and we tell you before it happens. These Terms are written in English; translations, if any, are for convenience.
The LanWarp bot terms also apply when you use the bot. The Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data.
