These terms apply to the LanWarp bot for Discord (the “bot”). They add to the LanWarp Terms of Service, which also apply. If they conflict, these terms apply to the bot.
1. What the bot does
The bot keeps one message in a channel of a Discord server up to date with the status of a Minecraft server hosted with LanWarp: whether it is on, its address, its version and the players online.
Members can use the buttons under the message to be notified when the server opens, to ask the host to start it and, on Plus and Pro, to ask to join the whitelist. On Pro, members with the trusted role can start and stop the server, if the host allows it in the app and LanWarp is open on the host’s PC.
2. Who can add it
Only the host of a LanWarp server can connect the bot, from the LanWarp app, to a Discord server where they are allowed to add apps. The host chooses the channel and the trusted role.
3. Permissions
The bot asks for these permissions: View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History and Pin Messages. It uses them only to post, update and pin its own status message and to answer its buttons and commands. It doesn’t read chat messages.
4. Responsibilities of the host
The host is responsible for:
- choosing who has the trusted role, since those members can add players to the whitelist and, on Pro, start and stop the server;
- telling the players of their Minecraft server that the names of the players online appear in the status message on Discord;
- respecting Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines on their Discord server.
5. Rules
Don’t use the bot to spam, to harass people or to break Discord’s terms, and don’t try to make it act on servers you don’t host. We may stop the bot on a Discord server that breaks these rules.
6. Availability
The bot shows what the LanWarp app on the host’s PC reports. If the app is closed or the PC is off, the message shows Offline after a short delay. The bot depends on Discord’s services. We don’t guarantee that it will always be available.
7. Removing the bot
Press “Disconnect from Discord” in the LanWarp app, or remove the bot from the Discord server in Discord’s server settings. The data of that Discord server is then deleted, as described in the bot’s privacy policy.
